Hampton Roads Virgina is a robust and diverse community. A strong military presence and population is home to numerous military bases as well as a major shipbuilding operation. The area is further enhanced by its famous resort area. Three miles of ocean front hotels and condominiums offering tourists a firsthand view and experience of the vast Atlantic. Tourists come from all over the world to visit on a yearly basis. Much of the commerce and business in Hampton Roads is founded on the Resort area presence as well as the military. 

Hampton Roads is comprised of seven cities, Chesapeake, Franklin, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg

The Hampton Roads MSA, with a population of about 1.7 million, is the seventh-largest metropolitan area in the Southeastern United States. The harbor of Hampton Roads is an important highway of commerce, especially for the cities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Newport News.
